Relux is a contemporary design hotel on the Greek Island of Ios. Original artwork in the lobby area and all rooms enhance the guest experience.
The arriving guests encounter an inviting image of the sea upon their entrance. A large metal installation, behind the reception desk in the hotel’s lobby, calmly welcomes them. The sparkling light reflecting on the blue sea ties in with the color palette of the hotel’s brand identity.
After the guests check-in, they can enjoy more art in the comfort of their room. All rooms display a map of the Island of Ios with a different beach highlighted in each room.
Τhe thick material of the white maps lay a light shadow on the white wall, appearing as though the island is hovering above water. Two straight blue lines mark distance and point out the concept of space.
In the luxury suites, the white map is printed on plexiglass with the name of the chosen beach hand-stitched in blue thread, paying homage to traditional embroidery commonly found in the Cyclades.
